September General Meeting

Discussions were held on the following:
  • Mural on the toilet block at Monterey Community park
  • Suggested arts heritage walk in Frankston North
  • A spokesman for the local Police will be asked to speak at our next meeting
  • The Pines pool financial stability was discussed
  • The new aquatic centre at Sherlock reserve is due to open in 2014
  • Parking behind Mahogany Neighbourhood centre could do with upgrading and signage
  • 2 hour parking limit at the Pines shops
  • Customer service at the local fish and chip shop was commended
  • Geoff Shaw has arranged for $100 000 for an Employment and training officer and a Community engagement officer to be employed locally for 12 months part time
  • Try a trade has been a success
  • A follow up with Roland Richardson regarding school drop outs and truent program running locally
  • There is a room available for Mothers groups, playgroups, etc at the Mahogany Rise Primary school childrens services hub
  • Old matresses on the street are an issue needing to be addressed by Council
  • Some areas of repeat dumping are becoming an issue and offenders don't appear to be discouraged
  • Repoting of overgrown vegetation need to be addressed again
