July General Meeting 2013

Discussion took place regarding:

·         Pride Day 16th of March 2014. The Commitee is well under way. Members are encouraged to volunteer and participate on the day. Recommendations of any local performers are welcome, contact Penny.

·         Electoral boundaries have changed.

·         Population growth has been addressed by Council by building more single dwelling housing in local areas including Frankston North. We would like to know more information about these developments in particular the height and closeness of the units. How much high density will be allowed in our area? What would be the maximum dwellings allowed on each block? How will they acquire the land?

·         More seating being looked into, Margaret has gotten a quote. Seating will need a back and arms.

·         Ask Rebecca to bring in plans for a safer service road, Ballarto/Frankston-Dandenong Road.

·         Guest speaker, Norma from The Baptist Church.

The Church and their involvement in the Community. Current programs for over 55’s, young families, baby boxes for new local Mum’s. Creche and family room available for Sunday services. Men’s breakfast, ladies afternoon teas, craft group, Christian education for adults, multicultural group. Also day trips are popular with the Community. Local groups are promoted in the monthly newsletter.

·         Community plans available for members to look at.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday the 25th of August 2013 at 3pm.
